Samsung Electronics Poland R&D Center creates software for products such as smartphones, TVs, mobile networks, multimedia and intelligent buildings.

Project scope

Cooperation between Infolets and Samsung included the recruitment of engineers for ongoing projects.

The specialists we recruited worked on developing software for digital television devices using the DVB standard, an open interactive digital television platform compliant with the MHP standard.

The projects also concerned software for 3G phones and smartphones running on Symbian and Linux systems.

Challenges

We conducted the recruitment process remotely. At that time, it was a non-standard solution that required us to prepare solutions that were not generally available.

One of them was writing software that allows candidates to be tested remotely. The testing system had several options for monitoring the candidate’s activities while writing the test, which increased the reliability of the test results to 100%.

Process flow

We carried out technical and soft skills verification following the client’s guidelines.

The technical verification included an interview conducted by specialists in the required area.

Then, the candidate wrote a test that verified his knowledge. In addition to theoretical tasks, the test included practical tasks (e.g. finding an error in the code, correcting the code or writing a solution to the problem).

The client received a profile of a candidate who successfully passed verification in Infolet.

If the candidate’s profile matched the manager’s, the Infolet recruiter arranged the entire interview process with the client.

The final stage on Infolet’s part was to provide feedback to the candidate.

The candidate was hired directly by the client through their HR department.

Final result

Ultimately, we recruited 12 highly specialized engineers to Samsung. Many stayed with the company for the following years, advancing within its structures to leadership and managerial levels.
