PROJECT
The Senior Software QA Engineer is pivotal in the organization, ensuring the highest quality of software delivery in the travel industry. Our product is a highly complex, challenging, and dynamic area, the cornerstone of all travel bookings for airfare. The candidate must demonstrate testing acumen, troubleshooting abilities, and a strong desire to understand how systems work. The QA team ensures high-quality customer experience by systematically using Agile testing practices.
YOU WILL
- Create appropriate test scenarios based on the software specification
- Design, create, execute, and maintain automated
- Develop and execute software test plans
- Document detailed steps to reproduce the defect
- Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action
- Consult with development engineers and business analysts to resolve problems
- Assist with the designing, coding, and execution of automated test scripts
- Attend status meetings and provide oral and written reports regarding work progress
- Maintain automated scripts
- May take part in researching best practices, new tools, and technology
MUST HAVE
- 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance testing, writing, and executing test plans
- Scripting experience, including Python or JAVA
- Experience with testing in Agile/ Iterative Development
- Experience in working with XML/OTA
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Unix at the user level
- Knowledge of bug-tracking tools such as JIRA
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/subprojects simultaneously, and organizational skills
NICE TO HAVE
- Basic knowledge of the testing domain
- Experience in working with global, distributed teams
- Experience in backend system testing
- Experience in the Airline or Travel Industry
- Knowledge of regular expressions
- Knowledge of SVN (or another version control tool)
- Experience in test automation tools (e.g. JMeter, Selenium, Fitnesse, QTP)
- Experience in using Quality Center (ALM) or other test management tools
- Very good English communication skills, written and verbal
