PROJECT

You will join a newly established team responsible for building next-generation payment processing capabilities as part of a large-scale transformation initiative.

The goal is to create a modern, scalable, and reusable payment processing engine based on microservices and cloud technologies. The team focuses on reusing and enhancing existing solutions (inner sourcing model) to accelerate delivery, reduce costs, and improve quality.

This role combines hands-on engineering with architectural responsibility and technical leadership within a high-impact, business-critical domain.

YOU WILL

• Design and develop modern payment processing solutions based on microservices architecture
• Build and maintain high-quality backend services (Java + APIs) with strong focus on performance and scalability
• Create and own architectural artefacts (LLD, data models, gap analysis)
• Ensure high availability, resiliency, and reliability of systems
• Contribute to modernization of legacy systems and migration towards cloud-based solutions
• Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD, automation, and DevSecOps practices
• Work with technologies such as Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh
• Drive best engineering practices, quality standards, and code reviews
• Act as a technical leader and mentor for other engineers
• Identify and resolve complex technical and architectural challenges
• Support observability and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry)
• Contribute to technical decision-making and long-term technology strategy

MUST HAVE

• 8+ years of experience in backend development (Java)
• Strong experience in API design and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture (Spring Boot)
• Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Strong knowledge of system performance, scalability, and resiliency
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
• Very good understanding of system design and architectural patterns
• Experience working in complex, large-scale environments
• Fluent English
