PROJECT

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer with solid experience in enterprise-level systems to join a long-term international project in the transport industry.

This role requires deep backend knowledge, cloud expertise (AWS), and strong communication skills for working in multilingual, cross-functional teams. We want to hear from you if you're experienced in Java, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale backend environments.

YOU WILL

• Develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise-level backend applications in Java / JEE (7–12).
• Work with JBOSS, Tomcat, and PostgreSQL in a production-grade environment.
• Design and implement backend systems integrated with Kafka, REST APIs, and microservice architecture.
• Manage applications deployed in AWS using CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and business teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient systems.
• Participate in Agile (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) processes and take part in Agile rituals.
• Contribute to communication strategies and act as a technical point of contact when needed.

MUST HAVE

• Solid experience with Java / JEE (7–12), JBOSS, and Tomcat.
• Proficiency in managing applications in AWS using CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with Kafka in production environments.
• Background in the transport sector (aviation or railway preferred).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe).
• Understanding of microservice architectures.
• Practical knowledge of Java REST-API development.
• Strong communication skills, ideally in client-facing or consulting roles.
• Proficiency in German and English (min. C1 level).
