PROJECT

Within Wealth Management CTO, the team supports the UK Discretionary Investment business. The platform delivers post-trade investment services including trade settlement, corporate actions, fee processing, transfer-in/out processing, performance measurement, client reporting and regulatory reporting for UK wealth clients (personal, corporate and trust). This role is primarily focused on production support during UK business hours, acting as the SME for BAU support, while also contributing to delivery work in an Agile environment. The applications are back-end systems primarily hosted on IBM iSeries

YOU WILL

• Provide responsive, reliable production support during UK business hours, ensuring service availability in line with SLAs.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents and problems, with strong understanding of system functionality and upstream/downstream integrations.
• Engage directly with business users and key stakeholders to manage end-to-end issue resolution, providing timely and effective communication throughout.
• Manage support tickets, prioritise workload, and deliver short-term mitigations and long-term fixes via the backlog.
• Perform regular BAU operational activities, including annual data archiving, server role swaps, backup/restore exercises, security reviews, IT controls testing, audit support and system upgrades.
• Contribute to project delivery: requirements analysis, functional/technical design, development, testing and deployment.
• Produce solution designs and technical documentation aligned to HSBC standards and engineering best practices.
• Promote quality engineering, and actively participate in Agile/DevOps ways of working, including identifying tools/process improvements.

MUST HAVE

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience in application support and/or software development, ideally within an enterprise/global environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong system and business analysis capability.
• Solid hands-on experience with IBM iSeries and ILE RPG; exposure to modernisation approaches (e.g., SQLRPG, free format RPG, APIs) is an advantage.
• Strong written and spoken English, with proven ability to collaborate with global teams.
• Self-motivated with strong time management; willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Basic understanding of investment banking/wealth management; knowledge of securities custody or core banking is advantageous.
