We are looking for a Batch Scheduling Specialist to support the stability, availability and performance of enterprise IT services in a mainframe environment.
The role focuses on batch scheduling, infrastructure changes, service monitoring and incident management, with particular emphasis on IBM z/OS, JCL and IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS).
You will
- Maintain the operational stability, integrity and availability of supported IT services
- Ensure compliance with service management standards, operational controls and data quality requirements
- Support incident identification, troubleshooting and resolution in collaboration with the DevOps team
- Help ensure service resilience, sustainability and recovery time objectives
- Implement infrastructure changes while maintaining service quality and user experience
- Support infrastructure changes to meet performance, availability, security and resilience requirements
- Automate build, testing and deployment processes across environments to improve consistency and reliability
- Improve automation, continuous integration, system monitoring and maintenance processes
Must have
- 3+ years of experience
- Solid knowledge of JCL for IBM z/OS mainframe environments
- Good knowledge of IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)
- Basic knowledge of Horizon IWS Graph, BatchCP, BatchAD and XINFO
- Understanding of incident and change management processes
- Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Good written and spoken English
- Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Nice to have
- Experience working with Jira and Confluence
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in enterprise IT operations or mainframe environments
- Knowledge of German
