PROJECT

We are seeking a Lead Java GCP Developer to join a high-impact project in Kraków.

The role involves ownership of full-cycle backend development in a complex distributed system, with a focus on high performance, scalability, and quality. You will work closely with Technical Product Managers, development teams, and other stakeholders to deliver mission-critical functionalities.

YOUR ROLE

• Design, code, debug, and test Java-based backend applications in a GCP environment
• Lead technical direction and mentor junior developers
• Collaborate on building scalable, reliable microservices
• Analyze requirements, estimate effort, and contribute to story prioritization
• Ensure high-quality software through meaningful unit and integration testing
• Take part in Agile ceremonies and provide technical updates
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Support Technical Product Managers with the preparation of requirements for each release
• Participate in release planning and reviews
• Provide post-release on-call and warranty support
• Work cross-functionally with other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical implementation
• Assist in writing technical documentation

MUST HAVE

• Minimum 6 years of experience in enterprise software development
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Java and Microservices
• Strong expertise in:
  1. Enterprise Java
  2. Web services (XML, JSON, SOAP, REST)
  3. Cloud development (GCP preferred)
  4. CI/CD and development tools
  5. Unix/Linux systems
• Proven ability to lead technical design and implementation
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent English (spoken and written)

NICE TO HAVE

• Background in airline/reservations/PNR systems
• Experience with Rally or similar Agile project tracking tools
• Familiarity with production support and troubleshooting in distributed systems
